As option traders, we love to exploit the sharp moves that these often overlooked events can spur in the market. For instance, when you see Bullard set to speak in the premarket (June 23rd, 5:15AM EST), you know he’s probably going to say something hawkish, which could give bears some fuel. Powell probably isn’t going to hike four more times, but if anyone is going to say something wild like that, it’s probably Bullard. Likewise, knowing when key reports like Initial Jobless Claims release (Thursday’s at 8:30AM) could give a boost to omnidirectional options traders. Events that are smaller than the CPI, but big enough to matter have a habit of catching the market off guard. But not you — because you have the June stock market calendar right in front of you! In other words, knowing when these stock market events take place can help you create and plan your trades, and answer questions about why the market may have moved in the manner that it did on a particular day.
