Bitcoin (BTC) has been ripping higher in the last few days, reaching price levels over $17,500 this morning. This brings the market cap of the cryptocurrency to over $270 billion.
According to CNBC.com:
- Bitcoin rocketed higher, crossing the $17,000 mark in less than two days after topping $12,000 for the first time.
- The digital currency’s latest swing higher comes after a 20 percent plunge last week
- The overall pace of gains have accelerated in the last several weeks ahead of the launch of bitcoin futures by major exchanges
