Crypto Conversations: Jon Najarian and Charlie Shrem of CryptoIQ Discuss Amazon Web Services

I’m excited to announce that we at Investitute have partnered with the one-and-only Charlie Shrem of Crypto.IQ, to bring you the most accurate and reliable crypto trading resources.

Charlie and I have become good friends over the last year, and I just had to share his knowledge with you. Here are two things to get you started: Sign up for Investitute’s cryptocurrency daily news email for daily updates on what is going on in crypto, and visit Crypto.IQ for access to proprietary crypto research and trade ideas!Jon Najarian: Hello, I’m Jon Najarian and I’m here with my friend Charlie Shrem. Charlie, one of the richest men in the world and the head of Amazon, which is of course Jeff Bezos, has just endorsed a blockchain technology for AWS. What do you know about that?

Charlie Shrem: It’s very interesting, because I believe that cryptocurrency companies have been some of the biggest customers of Amazon Web Services over the past few years. Every major crypto exchange and company and project, including ours, is hosted on Amazon Web Services. So Amazon is waking up and saying hey…now we have these other companies that are competing with us for this business – it’s all market incentivized – and they’re saying, why don’t we accept cryptocurrency? And we see it as a legitimate thing.

So AWS accepting crypto is the first step in Amazon adoption. I wouldn’t be surprised if we wake up one morning and we see that now Amazon is accepting Bitcoin as a payment system. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon actually offers a discount for people paying in Bitcoin as opposed to paying with a credit card, because there are no fees for Amazon when they accept Bitcoin. Whereas they are probably paying two to four percent if they’re accepting a credit card. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw that happen any day that we wake up in the morning, that we’re going to see that happen.
