Many of our Investitute subscribers have reached out to me and asked “Jon, what do you think of Bitcoin and crypto?” I am very excited about the potential of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and want to bring this excitement and knowledge to our Investitute community.
I’m excited to announce that we at Investitute have partnered with the one-and-only Charlie Shrem of Crypto.IQ, to bring you the most accurate and reliable crypto trading resources.
Charlie and I have become good friends over the last year, and I just had to share his knowledge with you. Whether you are new to crypto trading, or have been a “HODL” investor from the beginning, Investitute and Crypto.IQ will help you navigate the exciting and promising world of cryptocurrencies.
Here are two things to get you started: Sign up for Investitute’s cryptocurrency daily news email for daily updates on what is going on in crypto, and visit Crypto.IQ for access to proprietary crypto research and trade ideas!Jon Najarian: Hello, I’m Jon Najarian and I’m here with my good friend, Charlie Shrem. And Charlie, we’ve seen that Facebook has blocked ads for various crypto on their site. However, we know the head of Messenger has now moved over and has his own crypto team within Facebook. What’s going on there? What’s that all about?
Charlie Shrem: Well of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if Google, which also banned advertising on crypto, is also probably working on their own cryptocurrency project in their Google X laboratories. But of course, Facebook decides to explore blockchain and Bitcoin options, they’re going to put a hold on an ability for someone to advertise there, because they want to charge them a lot more, and they want to be able to push their own product.
In fact, Ben Davenport, who is the CEO of BitGo, (Ben Davenport has since stepped down from BitGo) a crypto company that’s been around for three or four years now, was the one who developed Facebook Messenger for Facebook and he left Facebook three years ago. So, you’re seeing they’re losing a lot of people. My friend, who used to work at Facebook out in California, he left Facebook as well and has his own crypto company too. Facebook is losing talent to crypto companies – crypto is more exciting, Facebook’s now saying ‘oh, well if you wanna work in crypto, we’ll have our own cryptocurrency division now.’
It’s probably happening to millions of companies. We’re seeing bank executives leave – the CFO of a top 12 bank in Australia, yesterday, announced that he’s leaving that to go work for BlockOne, the developers of Eos, which is a top-five cryptocurrency as well. You’re seeing this every day. A major guy just announced this morning that he’s leaving his bank to go work for Blockstream, another cryptocurrency.
