Bitcoin’s Price Was Artificially Inflated Last Year, Researchers Say

IQ THOUGHTS:

We think there’s a lot more to this than market manipulation. We think what happened in December was largely due to media driven mania.

Crypto pundits continue to ponder the reality that is the current bear market, and the search for answers is ongoing. But we think it’s important to remember that just because someone puts forward an answer, that doesn’t mean it’s the correct one. The Russian collusion case comes to mind.

In this case, researchers lay the blame for the mooning December market on manipulation, but we think it’s simpler than that, and as Occam’s razor states, and we paraphrase, the simplest answer is usually the correct one. Coming at it from the opposite side, the more assumptions you have to make about an answer the more unlikely the answer is the wrong one.

While there is some evidence that can be extrapolated to manipulation being the case, even researchers evaluating the report say the matter requires greater analysis.

Look for our in-depth article of the market manipulation versus market mania in Crypto.IQ’s upcoming newsletter.

Internet Company Asks Israeli Authorities Permission to Pay Salaries in Bitcoin

IQ THOUGHTS:

While Israeli officials and this company iron out the Bitcoin payroll question, we’re wondering if you would want all or some of your salary/wages to be paid in Bitcoin.

We’re such staunch HODLers here at Crypto.IQ that it’s hard to imagine paying bills using a Bitcoin salary. While we’d really like that to be the case, it’s a lot easier to let go of fiat than Bitcoin. So the dilemma would be: pay the bills, feed the kids on one hand and say bye-bye to some Bitcoin… or just HODL and live under a bridge.

We’re still thinking about it.
