India Hit With Crime Wave as Cryptocurrencies Continue to Gain Popularity

We have to take the good with the bad in the cryptocurrency world, but, because of the nature of this space, we have the minds and the motivation to meet any challenge.

A beautiful thing about the cryptocurrency revolution is that it brings out the best in people. Founders step back from disruptive and innovative projects, and the crypto bitten cognoscenti swarm to fill in and move forward with even more amazing innovation.

Brilliant minds that might’ve been missed by the old order can shine in this new world and reach their potential as visionaries or agents of change.

We’re seeing the results of this surge of innovation emerge in every aspect of life, from the arts to business to the seamier side of what the human mind can imagine.

Unfortunately, we’re also seeing an uptick in crypto crime because with the gold comes the slag, in this case the criminals and corruption that follow anything good.

It’s not a pleasant fact, but it tells us that this movement is authentic, that even those without fire in their bellies for the transformational nature of what crypto can do at least see something worth copping.

Oxford Profs Plan Launch of World’s First Blockchain-Based, Decentralized University

Blockchain will reach every corner of modern life, and that includes education, where its democratizing effects can change for generations to come the fates of families, villages, and remote and poor regions of the world.

We’ve seen how blockchain can help the world’s poorest people, not only giving them access to banking, but also connecting them to opportunities not, by definition, available to the economically disenfranchised.

Here we’re seeing educators reach across what used to be insurmountable barriers to offer high quality education. According to this article, “The proposed ‘blockchain university’ will adopt the traditional Oxbridge course and collegiate structure by focusing on individual tutorial-led modules that will be available to students either on- or offline. The project’s design is ‘geographically agnostic,’ prioritizing a ‘borderless’ academic community over local or national ties.”

When poor people get money, the “luxuries” they spend it on include internet connectivity and education because they know it’s what will pull them up from the economic bottom.

We applaud this effort that uses blockchain to bring a quality university education to anyone with access to the internet and a willingness to learn.
