CRYPTO HEDGE FUND: “We are getting killed this year…and no relief in sight.”

IQ THOUGHTS:

We’re patient, but excited about the prospect of institutional investors finally diving into this market.

While hedge fund managers say they could’ve done a better job preparing for our current bear market, some see our current volatile market as an opportunity, and the recent SEC ruling on Ethereum only adds to enthusiasm about the future.

But hedge fund leaders agree with our own expectations that the biggest and most positive impact on cryptocurrency markets will come when institutional investors put more than their big toe in the water.

We agree that a lack of regulatory clarity hasn’t helped matters, but since the SEC came out last week and ruled that Ethereum is not a security, we expect that institutional investors, who have shown keen interest in this market but little else, will begin putting more than a toe into crypto.

Is The Price Of Bitcoin Becoming More Or Less Volatile After Security Breaches?

IQ THOUGHTS:

The surprising good news is that, compared to times past, events that swung the market are having less of an effect, leading us to believe that market volatility is cooling.

We agree with this piece that outlines the different impact seen recently with security breaches and what we’re seeing today.

We’re not saying volatility is leaving the crypto market, only that we are beginning to see a surface harden on a fiery planet.

It’s still going to be a while before we see the kind of stability that guarantees fast mass adoption, but we think it’s coming, just slower than we’d like.
