Market Rebellion co-founder Jon Najarian was on CNBC’s Halftime Report today talking about the moves he made in more than a dozen different names.
Dr. J also highlighted unusual options activity he spotted in EVgo ($EVGO), The Trade Desk ($TTD), Skillz Inc. (SKLZ), QuantumScape ($QS) and Infosys Limited ($INFY).
Let’s dive into all the insights…
Jon Najarian’s trades and UOA from November 8th
First, Jon sold his calls in Volta ($VLTA), AerCap ($AER), Boeing ($BA), Crowdstrike ($CRWD), McDonalds ($MCD), and puts in the Ark Genomics ETF ($ARKG).
A lot of these I was just being disciplined. I try to stay in the same timeframe that the smart money was in when they were buying these options. Now a lot of these timeframes have expired. So I took profits and said, “I’ll wait until smart money comes back in.” Jon called out Volta in particular, “$VLTA – These are the smart media charging stations. It was up 48% since the beginning of November! Took profits on that one and exited.
Then Jon bought calls in $CHPT, $BLNK, and $QS.
I added to Chargepoint ($CHPT) & Blink Charging ($BLNK), and they’re up 22% since last Wednesday. Quantumscape ($QS), boy, a 16% move today. Big upside call buying in $QS, and I think there’s a lot more gas in the tank for that name.
When challenged on whether he planned to sell his calls in $EVGO after the stock rallied over 25% in a single day, Jon held firm:
No, I don’t intend on getting out of this one, or Blink, or Chargepoint. Those are all the charging for those EV vehicles, and that network needs to get built out like crazy in order to hit the president’s goal of 500,000 charging stations across the US. That’s EVgo, that’s Chargepoint, all of these are going to benefit from that long beyond a one-day pop. All I’m doing is rolling up to higher strikes.
Jon went on to talk about the infrastructure bill that passed over the weekend.
These EV names are getting direct input from the latest stimulus, and there may be more to come, depending on the fate of that second $1.75 trillion infrastructure bill that still is out there to be passed at some point in the future.
Lastly, Jon noted unusual upside call buying in $TTD, $INFY, and $SKLZ.
