Bullish option traders collected more fast profits in the US Global Jets ETF (JETS) today.
On Friday afternoon, Nov. 13, Market Rebellion’s Unusual Activity Service flagged the purchase of 2,851 Weekly $21 calls, expiring on Nov. 21, in two prints for $0.41 with shares at $19.87. This was clearly fresh buying, as open interest in the strike was only 237 contracts before that session began.
Those calls traded for as much as $1.00 today, over 2 times their purchase price. The stock rose 6.79% in the same time frame, underscoring how options can far outperform moves in their underlying shares.
This marks the second winning trade in the ETF to be posted by Market Rebellion in the last week.
Long calls lock in the price where investors can buy a stock, letting them position for a rally at limited cost with the potential for significant leverage. They carry less risk than owning shares because the most that can be lost is the price of the options no matter how far the stock might fall.
JETS was up 3.77% today to close at $20.91.
