Jon was seeing unusual activity in ADSK, where traders were buying 4,800 of the 24August $134 calls for 3.90 to 5.10. Jon bought these calls, noting the company reports earnings Thursday afternoon and that he will likely sell a higher strike against his position.
Jon also sees unusual bullish activity in RRC, where 2,500 of the December $16 calls were purchased for around a dollar, as part of a bullish spread. Jon bought these calls and mentioned that the company’s next earnings report is not expected until late October, but if the position’s value doubles before then, he will use discipline to take half off and ride with the rest.
