Price Breaks Provide Option Profits in $WHR

In our TNT Options Trading Service on March 18th, we talked about Whirlpool (WHR).

We suggested simple targets for $WHR if it should break and make a run either above its 50-day SMA or below its $133 flat-line. A report from The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) on February data that showed wholesale unit shipments of core appliances had fallen, and the question was, would it be a negative for the stock, causing it to pull back?

The stock of WHR would provide a quick put trade by Tuesday’s close as it ended the session below the $133 flat-line at $132.31, and would trade lower Wednesday to a bottom on the day of $129.90. While fast, the trade produced profits for nimble option traders to take advantage of the momentum before at the end of the week, they were rewarded once more when WHR opened lower, sold through the $133 flat-line, and would end the session nearly at the lows, closing $129.04, an impressive four point move to end the week.
