The Golden State Warriors gave us a nice 1.5U win after closing out their series against the Boston Celtics last week and the Tampa Bay Lightning were crushed 7-0 in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final to close last week’s record at 1-1, but we still finished up 0.5U.

June 24: NHL- Tampa Bay Lightning vs Colorado Avalanche

The Lightning burned us last week, but like a moth to a flame, we’re going back to them.

The Avalanche are an incredible team, and we expect them to win the Stanley Cup, but do we see them beating the Lightning in the series 4-1? Not a chance. These guys have won back-to-back Stanley Cups and have had to fight back in two of the previous three series they’ve played.

This is a team that only gets stronger as each round continues (as we saw in the series against the New York Rangers) and we expect them to make the Avalanche work for the Cup.

Both teams have tons of offensive firepower, but Tampa has the stronger netminder in Andrei Vasilevskiy. Andrei had an incredible performance in Game 4 on Wednesday, despite losing in OT.

Tampa Bay’s ML offers great value at +145 and, while they’ll be playing in Colorado, we don’t expect the high altitude to affect the desperation they’ll be playing with to keep their season alive.

June 24: MLB- Boston Orioles vs Chicago White Sox

It’s time for Market Rebellion’s first MLB pick! We’re starting our baseball betting season with a juicy Run Line for the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago hasn’t been the force some thought they would be coming into the season and a rough start hurt their record, but they’ve been playing better recently. They’re 6-4 in their last 10 and are coming off a series win against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Baltimore is also 6-4 in their last 10 and has a similar overall record, but what gives Chicago the edge is starting pitching.

The White Sox are expected to have Michael Kopech on the mound, who leads his team with a 2.38 ERA through 56.2 innings played. Meanwhile, the Orioles have Kyle Bradish lined up to face White Sox batters. Bradish has a 7.38 ERA in 46.1 innings played. One of these teams has a much stronger chance to win right off the bat (no pun intended).

Chicago is favored on the ML with -155 odds and is -1.5 run favorites (+130). We like the Run Line here with the positive money it offers against a struggling pitcher.

While injuries to Yasmani Grandal, Yoan Moncada, and Eloy Jimenez are a bit concerning, the White Sox are still a team that has playoff aspirations in mind and a series against the Orioles could be exactly what they need to close the 4.5-game gap from Cleveland.
