We’re green! Another week of going 1-1 but we’re now up overall, so we’ll take it. With the NHL and NBA season concluding, we’ll be looking at other sports to bet on until football season kicks off (hello UFC).

July 2- UFC: Adesanya vs Cannonier

The last time we threw money on the UFC it was an all-time bad beat for us. This time should be different.

For Saturday’s main event, Israel Adesanya will be defending the middleweight title against Jared Cannonier in a fight that Vegas believes will be easily won by the champ. Adesanya is currently a -450 favorite while Cannonier is a +360 underdog.

We’re not going to be betting against the bookies on this one, but we’re also looking for some positive money here. With that in mind, we will be taking Adesanya to win by KO/TKO/DQ (+150).

This is a pick that we’re not overthinking. Cannonier is a great fighter, going 5-1 since joining the middleweight division, but Adesanya is most likely going to defend his title. He’s an incredible fighter that is at the top of his game and is simply eclectic to watch.

Adesanya has four inches of height on Cannonier and owns the reach advantage by two-and-a-half inches. That’s huge for a fight that won’t see a whole lot of grappling. Factor in Israel’s speed and there should have plenty of opportunities for him to close the distance, land a few punches and bounce away.

Future- Wimbledon: Rafael Nadal

You know we had to get some tennis action going during Wimbledon. For our bet, we’ve decided to go with a future on Rafael Nadal to go the distance.

Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the two favorites for the men’s tournament, but Nadal offers the better value at +450. Djokovic is currently a -190.

He’s won the opening two slams of the year and is trying to become the first man to win all four calendar grand slams year in over 50 years.

Leading into the tournament, Nadal dealt with a foot injury, which could be a risk as the tournament progresses. However, he’s persevered with injuries in the past and has proven to be one of the toughest players to beat in a 3-out-of-5 set match in tennis history.

Both Nadal and Djokovic are on different sides of the bracket, so they have the chance of meeting in the final match with everything on the line. Should Nadal get that far, it would be smart to at least think about cashing out before the match begins.

+450 offers some great value and the early cash-out option would net you a generous profit. The Rebels will be riding this bet until the end for the full payout, but it’s always something to consider.

Nadal has dealt with a foot injury for a while now, and he typically doesn’t compete at Wimbledon, but he’s looked good so far and is one of the major names still in it.
