Well, we were green for one week. Then Adesanya decided to put on an absolute snooze fest on Saturday and the fight went to decision. Insert “Aaaand it’s gone” meme from South Park. We’re going to try and get back on track this week.

July 7- UFC: Detroit Tigers vs Chicago White Sox

Baseball has been tough for us, but we’re due and the Chicago White Sox seem like the play of the night.

Dylan Cease is on the mound for Chicago and he’s been lights-out all season. His 2.51 ERA is the best on the team and the team has won four of its last six.

Last night, third-baseman Jake Burger was placed on the 10-day injured list, which hurts the team’s offense a bit. But Luis Robert, Jose Abreu and Andrew Vaughn should pick up the slack.

They’ll be going up against Detroit’s Beau Brieske, who currently sports a 4.54 ERA.

The White Sox have looked better recently and, while the Tigers are on a four-game winning streak, Cease’s dominance on the mound should power them to a sound win.

July 7- NHL Draft

The NHL Entry Draft is tonight and there’s been a lot of speculation of who will be picked first overall.

Heading into the off-season, Shane Wright was the clear favorite to go first. But as draft day nears, his stance as the No. 1 pick has been put into question.

The Montreal Canadiens are hosting the draft and also have the first pick. This is important because, since Wright is considered the most NHL ready of the draft, the fans will be expecting him to get picked and contribute immediately.

However, projected No. 2 pick Juraj Slafkovsky is expected to have the higher ceiling of the two. He’s also been rumored to be the new favorite to go first overall.

So, do the Habs take the popular pick and go with Wright, or do they go with a player that could be better in a couple years?

That’s impossible to answer, but Slafkovsky offers positive money at +110 to go No. 1 and we like that money. There’s always the chance Montreal swaps the pick for No. 2 or No. 3 and gets Wright there while Slafkovsky gets picked first by another team.
