Happy New Years, everyone! We’re quickly approaching the best time of the year with NFL, NHL and NBA playoffs on the way and March Madness looming. Lots of opportunities to make great bets and we’ll be trying to capitalize.
January 5: NHL- Boston Bruins vs Los Angeles Kings
We’re in the dog days of the NHL season and teams are showing who they truly are.
The Bruins are Stanley Cup contenders, and the Kings are good, but not great. They’re at the back end of a rebuild and have some pieces, but they need time to mature.
This is the Bruins’ first game since a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins during the Winter Classic and, despite the win, we’re expecting a bounce back game from Boston.
They lacked cohesion for much of the Winter Classic, but we don’t think that’ll happen tonight. They’ve been an absolute force on the ice this season and the poor play they displayed at Fenway Park shouldn’t rear its head in LA tonight.
We think the Bruins will come out with some bite and run up the score on a young Kings team.
Rebel’s Pick: Boston Bruins -1.5 (+155) @ 1U
January 7: NFL- Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders
We’ve reached the final week of the NFL regular season and there’s plenty to bet on. Lots of teams are fighting for playoff seeding while others fight to stay relevant. We have both in this matchup.
The Chiefs are looking for a first-round bye and the Raiders are looking to see if they have anything in QB Jarrett Stidham after benching Derek Carr a couple weeks ago.
The Chiefs currently stand as 9-point favorites (-110) and that’s a very enticing line. They aren’t locked into a playoff seed just yet, so they should have their starters on the field fighting for that top spot.
The Raiders have been a complete mess this season and have an unproven QB starting for them. Even if the Chiefs defense can’t contain Stidham and RB Josh Jacobs, their offense should put up plenty of points.
Rebel’s Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -9 (-110)
