Our first foray into snooker was successful as the under hit! Couple that with our NHL parlay cashing and we closed the weekend up a couple units.

April 27: NFL Draft

It’s NFL Draft day! Today, several franchises will alter their future, for better or for worse. While there has been a lot of buzz surrounding QB’s like Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Anthony Richardson, we’ve got our eyes on a different name: Hendon Hooker. With an over/under draft position of 31.5, we’re betting on the under for him.

The Tennessee QB is currently recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (yes, those are real words), but is expected to be ready at some point next season.

That timeline lines up perfectly with a few different teams as he’ll likely need time to learn and adjust to the NFL level.

Could the Vikings take him with their No. 23 overall pick? Kirk Cousins’ deal expires after this year. Drafting and letting him sit a season behind an established QB is probably best for his development and it saves the Vikings from having to draft a fresh-faced rookie at next year’s draft or find a QB via free agency.

Alternatively, if the Titans are unable to trade up for one of the more high-profile QB’s, they may consider Hooker as a solid backup plan. Ultimately, there are numerous teams that could benefit from Hooker’s talents without having to move up on Day 1.

Rebel’s Pick: Hendon Hooker Draft Position Under 31.5 (-150) @ 1U

April 28- NHL: Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Islanders

We’ve hit the point in Round 1 of the NHL Playoffs where teams are on the brink of either moving on to the next round or being eliminated.

Friday night sees the Islanders in the latter category. They’re down 3-2 in the series but won Game 5 in Carolina. They now head home with a chance to force a Game 7.

We don’t think they do that.

This has been a closer series than we would have expected, but the Hurricanes are still the more explosive opponent. They’ve consistently been the better team throughout these past five games and seem ready to close this out.

Also, the core they have has been around long enough to know what it takes to win and, odds are, they don’t want to blow a 3-1 series lead.

The Islanders are also the most boring team in these playoffs, so them getting bounced tonight would be a win for the league in general. (Sorry Isles fans, but you know it’s true)

Rebel’s Pick: Carolina Hurricanes ML (+105) @ 1U
