Quick recap
Equity markets cooled off a bit last week following recent all-time highs. The S&P 500 finished the week down 0.76% at 4,682. The Nasdaq closed down by 0.70% at 15,860. The Dow finished lower by 0.62% at 36,100.
Bitcoin is up around 2.8% on the week after notching a new all-time high of $68k on Tuesday. At writing, $BTC is trading near $64,200. Many other cryptocurrencies are trending lower, though. Just take a look at some of the most popular tokens below.

What to watch this week
Consumer Data
Traders will be focused on multiple consumer data points this week.
First we’ll get U.S. retail sales for October on Tuesday premarket. The Commerce Department’s latest report is expected to show a boost of 1.1% in retail sales from the month of September. It’ll be important to see how the actual numbers turn out as consumer activity continues to be one of the more critical reference points for our recovering economy.
Then, we’re set to hear quarterly reports from several retail giants. The data should reveal even more about how consumers are spending their money. Read on for the highlights!
Earnings roundup
We’ve seen quarterly data from many of the biggest names on Wall Street. But there’s still plenty to keep an eye on in the week ahead.
Traders are waiting to hear from popular stocks like Nvidia ($NVDA), Target ($TGT), Walmart ($WMT), The Home Depot ($HD), The TJX Companies ($TJX) and Macy’s ($M).
With the major indices near fresh all-time highs, it’ll be critical to see how the overall market responds as earnings continue rolling in. Here’s some of the most noteworthy reports to watch:
