On Feb. 26, Investitue’s market scanners flagged the purchase of 2,400 March $17.50 calls for $0.45 with shares at $16. Volume was twice the previous open interest in the strike, showing that this was fresh buying.
Those calls traded for as much as $4.10 today, 9 times their purchase price. The stock surged 34.19% in the same time frame, a large move but nowhere near that of its options on a relative basis.
It is the second winning trade in the name posted on Investitute in as many days. Investitute co-founder Pete Najarian cited even more bullish option activity in Sea Limited on CNBC’s “Halftime Report” today.
SE reached a session high of $21.69 before pulling back to close at $21.50, off 1.65% on the day. The Singapore-based digital entertainment, e-commerce, and financial-services company surged on strong quarterly results after the market closed on Feb. 26.
